Allison teaches Gr. 5 at St. Joseph's School in Richmond Hill, Ontario. She presently is the Divisional Leader for Gr. 4-6, directs the school choir and organizes public speaking events for students.

Allison has been involved in filking and science fiction fandom since the mid-80's. She has helped with the organization of science fiction conventions and fan clubs, on-line fan communities and she has co-edited a media fanzine. She has participated in many media and filking panels at conventions.

Allison plays guitar and sings as part of the filk group, Urban Tapestry. She also enjoys hiking, needlework, children's literature and photography.
